Contributor Guidelines & Your Responsibilities
MangaloreDiary welcomes articles from community writers, journalists, experts, and passionate Mangaloreans. Contributing to our platform is a privilege and comes with responsibilities. By submitting content to MangaloreDiary, you agree to the following:
- Originality: All content you submit must be your own original work. You must not submit content that has been published elsewhere without our prior knowledge and consent.
- Accuracy: You are responsible for the factual accuracy of the content you submit. Do not submit fabricated news, false statistics, or unverified claims as fact.
- No Defamation: Do not submit content that defames, falsely accuses, or unfairly damages the reputation of any individual, organisation, community, or business.
- No Hate Speech: MangaloreDiary will not publish content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on religion, caste, gender, ethnicity, region, or any other characteristic.
- No Plagiarism: Do not copy text, images, or data from other sources without proper attribution and rights. Plagiarism will result in immediate removal of your content and account termination.
- No Advertising Disguised as Editorial: If you have a commercial relationship with any person or business mentioned in your article, you must disclose this clearly.

You retain full copyright ownership of your work. We will credit your name as the author. If you wish to have your content removed, contact us at editor@mangalorediary.in.
MangaloreDiary reserves the right to edit submitted articles for clarity, grammar, length, and style — without changing the author's core message or intent. We may also decline to publish any submission that does not meet our editorial standards, without being required to give a reason.
Comments, Feedback & Community Behaviour
MangaloreDiary may offer comment sections, feedback forms, or community discussion features on our Platform and social media channels. When participating in any such community space, you agree to the following Community Standards:
- Be respectful: Disagree with ideas, not people. Personal attacks, name-calling, and harassment will not be tolerated.
- No misinformation: Do not knowingly post false information in comments or discussions.
- No hate speech or incitement: Comments that promote violence, discrimination, or hatred based on religion, caste, gender, or region will be removed immediately.
- No spam or commercial solicitation: Do not use comment sections to promote your business, products, or services unless it is directly relevant to the discussion.
- No obscenity: Keep language appropriate for a general audience. Obscene or sexually explicit content is not permitted.
- No doxxing: Do not share another person's private information — address, phone number, workplace — without their consent.
- Respect the law: Do not post content that is defamatory, threatening, or otherwise illegal under Indian law.
MangaloreDiary reserves the right to remove any comment or content that violates these standards, without prior notice. Repeat violators may be blocked from commenting or contributing entirely. We are not obligated to monitor all comments in real-time but will act on reports promptly.
Intellectual Property Rights
All original content on MangaloreDiary — including but not limited to news articles, feature stories, editorial photographs, graphic designs, logos, page layouts, and the MangaloreDiary brand name and logo — is the intellectual property of MangaloreDiary or its licensed contributors, and is protected under:
- The Copyright Act, 1957 (India)

The MangaloreDiary name, logo, and tagline "Your Daily Dose of Mangalore News" are the exclusive property of MangaloreDiary. You may not use our name, logo, or branding in any way that suggests an endorsement or affiliation without our prior written consent.
What is permitted: You may share links to our articles, embed our social media posts, and quote brief excerpts (not more than one or two paragraphs) from our articles for commentary or criticism, provided you clearly credit MangaloreDiary and include a hyperlink to the original article. This is consistent with fair dealing provisions under the Copyright Act, 1957.
Copyright Infringement & Takedown Requests
MangaloreDiary respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our contributors and users to do the same. We take copyright infringement seriously — both as a victim and as a responsible platform.
If you believe content published on MangaloreDiary infringes your copyright, please send us a formal takedown notice at editor@mangalorediary.in with the following information:
- Your full name and contact information (email, phone)
- A clear description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed

We will review all genuine requests and respond within 72 hours on business days. Where infringement is confirmed, we will remove the content promptly. We also reserve the right to remove content and restrict access for users who repeatedly violate copyright.
False Notices: Submitting a false copyright takedown notice is itself a legal violation. If you knowingly misrepresent that content is infringing, you may be liable for damages under applicable Indian law.

- Breaking News: Developing news stories may be updated as new facts emerge. We clearly label breaking or developing stories. Initial reports may contain errors that are corrected as the story develops.
- Contributor Content: Articles submitted by community contributors represent the views and opinions of the author, not of MangaloreDiary. We do not independently verify every claim in contributor articles, though we do apply editorial judgment.
