However, the commercial establishments have been shut on Thursday condemning an attack on one of the shops during the Wednesday commotion and also fearing further attacks.
Security has been beefed up in the region to avert untoward incidents and as per sources no arrests have been done so far.
On Wednesday evening, a clash broke out between the BJP workers and the DYFI members when the latter took out a procession in Mulleria welcoming the decision of the Supreme Court that directed the government to disburse Rs five lakh compensation to all the endosulfan victims. What followed was a series of attack on vehicles and individuals. While two persons were injured in the commotion several vehicles were torched and damaged.
Later the CPM accused the BJP of sparking unrest by pelting stones at the DYFI procession.
