MPL cricket team pays surprise visit to positive children

Mangaluru: As a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, Maestro Corporation extended their support to the children of Samvedana home by conducting various activities. On Tuesday, 14 December, the home for HIV +ve children was filled with fun and frolic as one of the Mangalore Premier League cricket teams ‘Maestro Titans’ lightened up the children’s mood with their activities.

It was indeed a surprise to the children to see Team Maestro Titans inside their home compound after their visit to Manasa Water Park. To add to their exciting day with the water slides at the park, cricketers of Maestro Titans involved them in some ball games. Some team members were seen showing the male kids how to spin the tennis ball while bowling and the others swung their arms to hit the volleyball back to the girls.

After a brief cricket, volleyball and chat session, eatables like cakes and sweets were distributed by the team to compensate for the workout that they gave the kids. When News Karnataka spoke to Sulochana (name changed), one of the house inmates, she said, “It was a fun day at the park and a complete surprise to see a team of cricketers at our residence. We played volleyball and the boys learnt to play cricket. It was so much fun to involve everyone in games like these to have fun together.”

At 6 PM when it was time for the boys to get back to their hostel nearby, the team bid their byes to the children and hoped to meet again soon. The Godmother promised the team that the children will come to see one of their matches which is scheduled in the evening so that the children don’t have to miss school.
