MANGALURU: With the clock ticking down on Mangalore Premier League (MPL) 3.0, that gets under way at the B R Ambedkar Cricket Stadium in Panambur from December 17, Karnataka Regional Cricket Academy (KRCA), organizer of the event, is pulling out all stops to make the event a success. It has organized a fest and MPL trophy launching programme at Panambur beach on Sunday.
The fest will have many games like family cricket, shoot at the stump, kite flying by team Mangalore, sand art, sand mountain competition, run and rotate and many other games, noted Gowtham Shetty, tournament coordinator. All family members can take part in these games without any entry fee and can take back loads of surprise prizes, he said, adding there is a raffle draw which give the cricket enthusiasts an opportunity to win an iPhone as a prize.
Highlight of the trophy launch will be a ramp walk by the owners and captains of the 12 teams that will be vying for the title this year. The MPL cricket trophy will be launched in the presence of VIP’s from India and abroad, he said.
A bike rally with participation from all players of 12 MPL teams, cricket lovers will be held from Nehru Maidan to Panambur beach at 3.30pm, Sirajuddin, chairman of MPL said.
