CBI, ED continue to question 2 senior Govt officials on illegal money transactions

Bengaluru: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken top Karnataka government officials T N Chikkarayappa and S C Jayachandra into their custody. Both Enforcement Directorate (ED) and CBI have started questioning the both officials for stocking unaccounted money, bullion and documents related to movable property at their respective residences in the state capital. The ED has also been questioning the officials on the source of unaccounted money, and illegal transaction of funds.

Managing Director of Cauvery Neeravari Nigama (irrigation corporation) TN Chikkarayappa,   Chief Project Officer of the State Highway Development Project  Jayachandra with his son Trijesh, contractor Sharief along with his son have been taken into custody by CBI.  Income tax officials had found to Rs 5.7 crore cash in the denomination of the new currency notes of Rs 2,000, 14 kgs of bullion and doucments related to movable properties last week in two separate raids at residences of the two senior government officials.
