ICAR – Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Kasargod will organise ‘Kisan Mela’ on the occasion of their centenary celebrations. Honorable Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh will inaugurate the event.
The minister will release ‘Kalpa’, a new dark chocolate, manufactured by CAMPCO in association with ICAR-CPCRI on the occasion.
‘Kalpa’ is said to be made using caramelicious palm sugar derived from the sap of coconut blossoms produced with the help of technology imparted by ICAR-CPCRI using Cocoa Sap Chiller Technology. It digests slowly and thus causes milder upswings in blood sugar due to its low glycemic index and provides stable energy. The chocolate is said to be rich in potassium, magnesium, iron and other minerals, Vitamin E, B and C including dietary fibers.
