Bengaluru: A fun outing for a family at Lalbagh Botanical garden turned to be tragic after a bird bath made of stone fell on six-year- old Vikram crushing him to death on Monday afternoon while posing for a photograph.

As per reports Vikram, a class I student at a BBMP school in Srirampura, near Malleswaram, had holidays for Christmas, and was visiting the Lalbagh botanical garden along with his aunt and three other cousins.

Vikram was posing for a photo and had reportedly leaned against the pillar when the stone fell on him.

It is gathered that when the boy lay injured many passers-by stood there taking photos instead of coming forward to help.

”It was only later that someone helped and shifted Vikram to a hospital,’’ said Velu Kumar, Vikram’s uncle.

Vikram sustained severe head injuries and was taken to South City Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Vikram’s family has decided to donated his eyes, kidney and heart.

A case has been registered at Siddapura police station.
